I was on acid the day I decided to go into advertising.
Sitting on the beach, my friend Dave outlined the pros: creativity, travel, weird people, a free computer. And the cons: once or twice a year you have to wear normal clothes. Advertising sounded like a dream job. Then a golden dolphin leapt out of the water.
In the years that followed, I worked in New York and London at big agencies like McCann, FCB and Grey. And at smaller ones like Amster Yard and Portas. I spent a few years client-side at TK Maxx learning how to build a brand from the inside out, and also with small business owners building them from the ground up. I've worked on big names like Coke, BMW, Bacardi, and Hilton. And also had the pleasure of helping newcomers find their voice and make it heard.
Along the way I discovered a love for strategy, working alongside strategists and brand managers to bring creative flair to narratives, tone of voice and manifestos.
I've been a creative lead, one half of a team, and a lone wolf. I've won awards, travelled the world and have never grown tired of mining for that big idea, crafting that great line, and falling in love with every brand I work on.
I guess the acid still hasn't worn off.

“We first worked with Tami 12 years ago, and she’s still writing copy for us today, which is as good a sign as any in my book. She’s a great creative and always brings fun, interesting ideas, lines and tone to the table. We’ve worked with her on everything from straight-up advertising briefs to more strategic brand ideas and manifestos. She is always a delight to brief, carefully understanding exactly what we are looking for.”
